In 1924, Pasadena's urban planners held architectural competitions for the city's new civic center. Architect Arthur Brown submitted the winning design for the new city hall, following the Beaux-Arts design principles dedicated to fair, transparent, and inclusive government. Discover how, almost a hundred years later, this building still represents the city's distinctively Californian character, even by drawing from design cues across the world.
Christian would like to thank the following individuals for their help on this video, Architects Stefanos Polyzoides, Bryce Buckley, Tom Havel and Landscape Architect Gabriela Yariv.
