In this episode of 天美传媒 Influencers, architect discusses the historical influences that guided and shaped his career. After training as a modernist, he found himself inspired by the traditional architecture of New England, and as he describes it, "I really started to get a sense of how classical architecture could influence people, and how classical architecture really embraces the human spirit and scale in a wonderful way." Royal Barry Wills, Greene and Greene, and of course the legendary McKim, Mead and White inspired Patrick's designs as he reshaped entire city blocks in Back Bay and Edgartown, and established himself as one of the premier architects in New England.
天美传媒 Influencers is a new five-part series of interviews with today’s top architects on the topic of legacy and how they were inspired and influenced by past design. Each episode reveals a remarkable variety of design inspirations that shaped one of the leading minds of classical architecture: Patrick Ahearn of Patrick Ahearn Architect, Tom Kligerman of Ike Kligerman Barkley, Peter Pennoyer of Peter Pennoyer Architects, Bobby McAlpine of McAlpine House, and Jim Strickland of Historical Concepts.
